Gentle Beginnings—Our 1-Year-Old Program in Raleigh

A Gentle Start to a Joyful Learning Journey

Our Ones class provides a gentle, welcoming introduction to early childhood education—perfect for families taking their first step into childcare. We understand that leaving your little one for the first time can feel overwhelming. That’s why our teachers focus on warmth, safety, and individualized care, helping both children and parents feel confident and supported from day one.

Exceptional Care—Unmatched Teacher-to-Child Ratios

With a 1:3 teacher-to-child ratio, our 1-year-old program far exceeds typical daycare standards in Raleigh. Small groups—usually no more than 6 children with two teachers—allow every child to receive constant attention, cuddles, and encouragement. Teachers are always close by to comfort, engage, and celebrate every new milestone, so your baby is never lost in the crowd.

A Day in the Ones Room—Gentle Play, Comfort, and First Friendships

Each day in our Ones room is about feeling safe and discovering the world with trusted adults close by. Most children are taking their first steps or crawling, so we offer plenty of soft, open space for exploring at their own pace. Simple sensory activities—like feeling soft fabrics, rolling balls, or watching bubbles—help little ones use all their senses. Music and fingerplays, lap time stories, and gentle stacking or nesting toys introduce language and fine motor skills in the most natural, playful way. Our teachers comfort, hold, and encourage every child, helping them feel secure and loved as they start building their first social bonds.

Consistent Routines for Security and Comfort

Our daily rhythm is built around familiar routines: play, snacks, songs, and outdoor time. The 1s classroom has a private designated outdoor space so their little bodies can safely explore and practice their gross motor and social skills. Teachers tune in to each child’s needs, and work closely with the parents on setting individual goals and expectations. Potty training is never expected at this age—our goal is to support each milestone gently and in close partnership with parents.

Face-to-Face Communication, Every Day

We know how important it is to stay connected, especially when your child can’t yet tell you about their day. That’s why our teachers always take time for daily, face-to-face conversations with parents at drop-off and pick-up. We’ll share highlights—like favorite activities, new milestones, etc.—so you leave each day feeling informed and reassured.

More Than Daycare—A Place to Grow and Belong

Our infant toddler program is active, loving, and designed for exploration. With plenty of floor time, music and movement, outdoor play, and gentle guidance, your child is always engaged. Our goal is to help every little one build confidence, from their earliest steps and friendships to feeling a deep sense of belonging in our preschool family.
