Preschool in Raleigh—Where Play and Learning Grow Together

A Warm, Inclusive Start for Every Child

Our preschool program welcomes children ages 1 through 4 into a nurturing, 5-star, NAEYC-accredited learning environment in the heart of Raleigh. At Temple Beth Or, we believe in a play-based, developmentally appropriate approach—one that encourages every child to explore, create, and thrive at their own pace. Teachers focus on the whole child: building social-emotional skills, sparking curiosity, and laying strong academic foundations for kindergarten. Families join a caring community where every child is celebrated and supported.

Our Curriculum—Learning Through Play, Every Day

Social-Emotional Learning:
Using
Conscious Discipline techniques, teachers help children recognize feelings, share with friends, and learn routines—so even shy or anxious children find their voice.

Emergent Literacy & Math:
From singing songs and reading stories to exploring letters, sounds, and counting, our classrooms bring language and math to life through hands-on activities.

Creative Exploration:
Every day features art, music, movement, and sensory play, helping kids express themselves and discover new interests.

Physical Development:
Fine motor skills grow through crafts and playdough, while outdoor play and games boost strength, balance, and confidence.

Academic Readiness:
In our Pre-K classes, children work with Letterland and other proven curricula, learning phonics, patterns, and early math in ways that are active and fun.

Growing With Your Child—Our Age-Level Programs

Ones (1-Year-Olds):

The journey begins with gentle separation, cuddles, and sensory play—building trust and confidence as little ones take their first steps into group care.

Twos (2-Year-Olds):

Curious toddlers channel their energy into themed explorations of nature and community, with routines and independence growing each day.

Threes (3-Year-Olds):

Three-year-olds start recognizing letters, telling stories, and learning to be great friends—supported by consistent routines and hands-on projects.

Fours (Pre-K):

Our Pre-K “Fours” class is the bridge to kindergarten: children build confidence as classroom leaders, practice phonics with Letterland, and explore early math, all while playing and making lasting friendships.
