FOURS

Teacher to Student Ratio 1:8

Our four-year-old preschool classes are designed to build the skills and confidence children need for kindergarten and beyond. Through hands-on experiences, structured routines, and an engaging curriculum, children in our Tigers and Monkeys classrooms become capable, independent, and curious learners.

We incorporate the Letterland literacy program, which is also used in the Wake County Public School System. Through playful activities like Letterland Labs—using materials like wiki sticks, popsicle sticks, and playdough—children explore phonics, rhyming, syllables, and early word building. In math, we focus on patterns, number sense, measuring, and graphing through games and real-life applications.

But it’s not all academics—our preschool curriculum also includes emotional intelligence, community building, and personal responsibility. Children have classroom jobs, help create group rules, and learn to speak up for themselves and others. They explore big ideas like bravery, kindness, and seasons of change through thematic units, art projects, and holiday celebrations.

Our 4s leave TBOP excited for school, full of knowledge and self-assurance—and with a strong sense of who they are as learners and friends.
