Our one-year-old preschool classroom is all about nurturing a sense of safety, belonging, and wonder. At Temple Beth Or Preschool, we know that the first school experience sets the foundation for everything that follows—and we take that responsibility to heart. In our Friendly Frogs class, your child will be gently introduced to the rhythms of the day, build trusting relationships with teachers, and begin to engage in hands-on exploration.
Our curriculum for one-year-olds is centered around play, connection, and developmentally appropriate learning. Children practice fine motor skills through activities like peeling stickers, shaping playdough, and sorting colorful objects. They begin to understand early math and language concepts through simple games, songs, and stories. Most importantly, they’re building the social-emotional skills that will carry them forward: learning to express their feelings, comfort a friend, and celebrate milestones together.
We incorporate plenty of music, movement, and outdoor play, as well as opportunities to explore kindness and empathy. Our teachers provide a loving, responsive environment where every child is seen, supported, and encouraged to thrive.
