At Temple Beth Or Preschool we believe in a child-centered approach to education. Each child is unique, and learns and understands their environment in a different way. By keeping our teacher/student ratios well below what is required by the State, we ensure that each child gets one on one instructional time.
Our teachers assess each child to determine their interests, learning modalities, and development areas. They then use this information to structure classroom activities and centers to meet the needs of each student. What this means for parents is a custom education for their child. Smaller classes enable teachers to guide students more directly and intimately in their growth and development socially, academically and emotionally.
The National Institute for Early Education Research states that, “One study of child care centers in three states found that, among several structural characteristics examined, staff-child ratios were the only factor other than teacher wages that predicted the quality of preschool classrooms.”
We whole-heartedly agree.
